New Record!!

I couldn't believe it when I finished this 10K, but I finished in 51 minutes 11 seconds and my average pace was 8:15 min/mile.  I NEVER would have thought I could run a 10K that fast considering my first 10K was 1 hour 15 minutes.  I've come a long way and I'm loving it!

RS Birthday Dinner

When we first moved into this ward I was almost immediately called to be a Wolf Den Leader, which I really enjoyed and then I was asked to serve on the RS Meeting Committee to put together the RS Birthday Dinner.  The committee was a ton of fun and we decided to do a fun Fiesta type party.  Our committee performed "I Will Survive" (RS Version that I changed the lyrics to) and we were totally silly.  We then played RS Jeopardy and shared interesting facts about each of the sisters there and they had to guess who the facts belonged to.  It was so much fun and everyone seemed like they were having a great time!

I'm so grateful I was able to serve on that committee! I made some wonderful friends and instantly felt more connected to the ward as a result.

Amber's 8th Birthday

Amber turned 8 this year and was SO excited to get new scriptures and a beautiful baptism dress.  We had a nice time celebrating with the family at home. :)

New Job

I decided to apply for a job at the kids' school since Jason has so much studying and could be home with the little kids.  I was thrilled to get the job and I have had a nice time working there.  I'm a Special Ed Paraprofessional and I work with small groups of kids in resource.  I am getting to know the staff at the school and have made some nice friends.  A few of my co-workers joke around with me and are sarcastic with me so I am starting to feel right at home :)

This was a picture on my first day.  It went well, but I came home feeling somewhat emotional because of how much I missed all of my Thunder Ridge friends!  At TR I was always around people and spent a lot of time in the workroom (which was one of the most social areas of the school).  I knew everyone and laughed a ton throughout the days.  I realized my new job would keep me away from most of the adults in the school and though it would be very rewarding working with the resource students, I would lack that social out I so desperately need. I'm happy to say, that hasn't been the case.  I have loved working there and have had plenty of opportunities to talk and laugh with other adults. :)

Corbyn's 11th Birthday

Corbyn turned 11 this year and had an awesome birthday, but I have to tell you our cake story from that day.  Look at the following pictures and see if there is anything you think I might not be thrilled about with the cake I picked up?  Yep, you guessed it . . . the handwriting!  Aaaaaa!  Those of you that know me well know that penmanship is a big deal to me and especially on a beautiful cake.  I gasped when I saw this, but didn't have the heart to complain because the man that did it was so nice.

Well, when I took it up to pay for it, I noticed that he left his handwriting pen inside the cake and it was touching the frosting.  I was so grossed out, but once again didn't have the heart to just throw out the entire cake. I let them know and they didn't offer to replace it, they just took off the frosting that was touching the pen and re-frosted it (which was a different shade of blue) and then they didn't offer any type of discount.  Oh, I was just dying! Well, I decided to go home and just add whatever I could to it to make it nice and though it wasn't awesome, Corbyn loved it and that's all that matters!

I went on a hike with Corbyn, just the two of us, and he loved it!  It was a great time!

Crazy Hair Day

Shopping Trip

Our dear friends, the Durrants, came for a visit and Brianna was as happy as could be to be with her best friend, Kelsie!  We decided to go shopping one of the days and the kids couldn't resist posing for the camera.  It was also fun because Andrea and I decided to buy the exact same cardigan so of course we had to show it off. :)
