Week Twelve

I cannot believe that it has already been 12 weeks since I started my own weight loss program - it has gone by really fast! This last week I lost another pound, so that makes a total of 28 lbs. in 12 weeks. I am completely satisfied with that. Yesterday there were a few people at Church that noticed I looked different and I appreciated their nice comments. Even though I don't expect it and I don't need it, I would be lying if I said it didn't make me feel good.

Here's what I did last week:

22 Mar - Bike 15, Stairs 20, Bball 30, Weights 25, 1100 cal
23 Mar - Weights 20, Stairs 30, Bike 30, DDR 20, 1200 cal
24 Mar - Bike 30, Treadmill 30, Weights 25, 1200 cal
25 Mar - Weights 20, Stairs 30, Bike 30, DDR 15, 1400 cal
26 Mar - Bike 30, Treadmill 30, Weights 30, Elliptical 14, 1300 cal
27 Mar - Stairs 10, Bike 20, 1900 cal

Corbyn's Baptism

Corbyn was baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on March 6th and I am so pleased that he made that decision on his own. The day was wonderful and he was all grins.

After Kelsea got baptized, Corbyn told us that he did not want to be baptized because he didn't want to put his head under water. He does NOT like going under water and has probably only done it 2 times in his entire life. As his baptism approached he became more and more open to going under water, but was still afraid to do it. When he made the decision to be baptized we were very thankful that he chose to put his baptism before his fear of going under water. We had a lot of prayers the week of his baptism that he would not be afraid and that everything would go well. His prayer the night before said the same thing. When he was actually baptized, he went down into the font with Jason and at first they had a hard time getting in the right position. Once they did, Jason baptized him and when he came out of the water he was kind of choking up water, but then he turned around and gave us a big smile. It was pretty awesome! I'm so grateful that everything went so well and that Corbyn was so happy!!

Afterward, we had all the family come to our house for lunch. When everything wound down, Jason's parents, Nick and Mariah, Jason, and Corbyn went for a bike ride. (Jason and Corbyn stayed in the neighborhood and rode all around the trails, while the rest of his family rode to Herriman.) The next day, in Sacrament Meeting, Corbyn bore his testimony and it was so sweet! He said, "Yesterday, I got baptized" then he repeated that again. Then he said, " . . .and I went on a bike ride with my dad. I was very happy." I know that Corbyn will always remember his baptism day and how happy he was. I'm so thankful!

Corbyn received a package from his primary teacher, Sis. Johnson, and he was so excited to find a Candy Bar card inside.

Yes . . . Landon is missing. We actually had him go to the Durrant's house so that we would be able to see and enjoy Corbyn's baptism - it ended up being a great decision (sorry Landon.) :)

Week Eleven

This was a great week and I actually tried something new the last two days. My friend let me borrow her P90X and it was a fun. I may have to purchase my own set, however, I really LOVE going to the gym because the kids go in the nursery and there are no distractions. For right now I am going to do a little of both.

Here's what I did this week:

15 Mar - Eliptical 30, Treadmill 30, Weights 20, ?
16 Mar - Weights 15, Stairs 30, Bike 30, ?
17 Mar - Bike 30, Treadmill 30, Weights 30, 1100 cal
18 Mar - 1200 cal
19 Mar - P90X chest and back 60, Stairs 15, 1300 cal
20 Mar - P90X Plyometrix 60, Bike 32, 1200 cal

My new weight is 157 lbs., so I lost 2 lbs. :)

In reading the P90X nutrition guide it states over and over that undereating is a problem. In my head, I know this is true, but I just can't bring myself to eat the 2400 cal a day that they suggest I eat. I am exercising a ton so I know I need to properly refuel. Hmmmm, seems weird that now that I have gotten fit, I actually need to eat more to lose more weight. I am going to try to eat more this week and see what happens.

St. Patrick's Day . . . and Corbyn :)

I just had to hurry and post this because it brightened my day. When I came home from taking Kelsea to school, I walked in the door and Corbyn was wearing this. He was SO excited that it's St. Patrick's Day and he said that he would be the coolest because he was all dressed in green. In the nicest way possible, I tried to explain to him that his sweats were too short and that he probably shouldn't wear them to school, but he said, "I know, Mom. I see what you are thinking, but don't worry, everyone will think I'm the coolest because my pants are green." I explained that he might get teased because they are too short, but he explained, once again, that I shouldn't worry because everyone would love his pants. I managed to talk him out of wearing that shirt for his green school shirt and when I said that he should probably keep it untucked, he said, "Okay, mom, I'll listen to you on this one." (Now, you have to imagine Corbyn's voice as these things were said because it was so darling . . . and a little bit funny.) I told Corbyn I wanted to take a picture of him and he was happy to do it - he then said, "I wish you could take some video" which I did. He left the house all grins and waved to me as he headed down the street. He was so proud to be Corbyn in his 'cool sweats.' I waved back to him, then went inside and said a prayer that he would not get teased. He is so funny! I truly hope he has the best, 'coolest' day ever!!

Corbyn's Birthday

Corbyn turned 8 years old at the beginning of this month and we took the family to Classic Fun Center to celebrate. Right as we were leaving, Corbyn's cute friend showed up and wondered when the party started. Much to my surprise, Corbyn had invited him to come with us and I had no idea. I had mentioned to Corbyn (awhile ago) that he could invite one friend, but when I realized it was a Monday night, I didn't think that would be appropriate. Well, Corbyn must have missed that memo so we brought his friend along. When I called his mom to let her know what was going on, she was as surprised as I was - we had a good laugh and the boys had a fun time together.

Sweet Keira

She's getting bigger and cuter by the minute! Sweet Keira!

This is my favorite picture, with her cute little tongue hanging out. Love it!

Nightmare!

The snow melted and this is what I found in my yard . . . vole tracks EVERYWHERE!!! For those of you who know how anal I am about my lawn, you must know that this site caused MUCH frustration!!!!! Darn voles!!!!!

Two Little Fingers

Landon sucks his first two fingers on his left hand and is rarely seen without them in his mouth. Well, he just keeps getting sick from all the germs he picks up and I decided I was tired of it. I took some popsicle sticks and cut them down to the size of his fingers then I taped them on. He went the entire day without sucking his fingers, but at night when he went to bed, I totally caved in and cut them off - I couldn't bear hearing him so sad (I know that is shocking for me, but there it is). I decided that from now on I am going to put the sticks on his fingers when we go to the gym, then take them off when we get back home. I'm hoping that will cut out some of the germs he receives and help him to stay a little more healthy.

Smart Shopping

So I attended a class on saving money grocery shopping by a girl named Tori Mitchell, who works for GrocerySmarts. It was an awesome class and I decided to try out the things that were taught. Here's a couple of my small successes.

$120 worth of food for $79

$100 worth of food for $60.

Check out Tori's website at sheshopssmart.blogspot.com - it's pretty awesome!

Piano Recital

I am a little behind with my entries, so I will be posting quite a few in the next couple days.

Kelsea and Brianna had their piano recital last month and they both did such a wonderful job. It was Brianna's first recital and I had the privilege of playing a duet with her. She played beautifully and didn't seem nervous at all. Kelsea played a difficult Khachaturian piece and played awesome.

My mom and Jason's parents came to support

Kelsea's Book Club

Kelsea and a bunch of the neighborhood girls started a book club this year and we hosted it last month. Kelsea took charge and they discussed the book for awhile then played a Wii game called Just Dance. What a great group of girls!!!

Corbyn's Basketball Season

Corbyn has really enjoyed playing basketball this season. He feels bad when his team doesn't pass him the ball, but we're trying to teach him that it's not personal. He is so literal in his thinking that when he's right in front of someone and they pass it to someone else, he thinks they don't like him, or he thinks that they think 'he is the worst player ever.' I think he understands now that that is not the case and overall the experience has been a positive one.

Week Nine

After two weeks of not losing any weight, I finally lost 5 lbs. - yeah!!!!!! I now weigh 159lbs. :) It's been three years since I have been in the 150s. I would sure LOVE to get in the 140s!!! I can do it, I can do it!

The Potty

This made me laugh, and I really needed a good laugh right now.

THE
POTTY

A
LITTLE THREE YEAR OLD BOY IS SITTING ON THE TOILET. HIS MOTHER THINKS HE HAS
BEEN IN THERE TOO LONG, SO SHE GOESIN TO
SEE WHAT'S UP. THE LITTLE BOY IS SITTING ON THE TOILET READING A BOOK.
BUT ABOUT EVERY 15 SECONDS OR SO, HE PUTS THE BOOK DOWN, GRIPS ONTO THE
TOILET SEAT WITH HIS LEFT HAND AND HITS HIMSELF ON TOP OF HIS HEAD WITH HIS
RIGHT HAND.
HIS MOTHER SAYS: "BILLY, ARE YOU ALL RIGHT? YOU'VE BEEN IN HERE
FOR A WHILE."
BILLY SAYS: "I'M FINE, MOMMY. I JUST HAVEN'T GONE POTTY
YET."
MOTHER SAYS: "OK, YOU CAN STAY HERE A FEW MORE MINUTES. BUT,
BILLY, WHY ARE YOU HITTING YOURSELF ON THE
HEAD?"

BILLY
SAYS: "WORKS FOR KETCHUP."

Week Eight

First of all, I want to start by saying Happy Birthday to Corbyn. Today was his birthday and we had a great time. We went to Classic Fun Center to celebrate and all the kids were very excited. Corbyn is going to be baptized on Saturday and we are very pleased with his decision. We gave him a new suit and he was very happy. Definitely his favorite gift was the Indiana Jones Lego Set he received. That's all he wanted to do the rest of the night.

So, my results for this week are the same as last week. I still weigh 164 lbs. It's kind of frustrating because I put so many hours of exercising in and I am still eating really healthy. I am definitely plateauing and I'm going to need to change things up a bit. I can really tell that things are fitting differently though. Today I put on a shirt that I love and the last time I wore it it was very tight! Now it is lose - I am so encouraged by that! The inches matter more than the weight!

Anyway, here's a summary of what I did:

22 Feb - Bike 35, Treadmill 25, Weights 20, less than 1000
23 Feb - Weights 20, Stairs 15, Bike 20, DDR 20, 1100 cal
24 Feb - Stairs 15, Bike 30, 1200 cal
25 Feb - Stairs 10, Bike 37, Bball 45, 1300 cal
26 Feb - Weights 20, Stairs 10, Bike 7, DDR 20
27 Feb - 1100 cal
