Talk too much??!

Sometimes reality hurts. I was told today, by a young child, that her friend's mom doesn't like to talk to me on the phone because I talk too much - that's why she didn't answer the phone the last time I called. Hmmm . . . I really didn't need to hear that today! I never wanted to be the annoying lady that people avoid, because I talk too much - but there it is! I guess I'll try to keep my mouth shut more often.

Don't EVER stop talking!! This is one of the reasons why people love to be around you, because there is always something to talk about, and you make people feel comfortable because there is no uncomfortable silence. I LOVE that you talk alot. I think it's a sign of intelligence!

Hey Mindi! I tend to be a gabber myself. If you ever feel the need, I can chat it up with the best of them and will not complain!

Well, I appreciate the things you say to me, even if it's written rather than spoken. :o) You always have great insight!

Okay, YOU are not that person! When I used to talk to you on the phone you always seemed to know whether it was a bad time and best to get to the point, or if I wanted to chat, you would chat...you just instinctively seem to be able to read people and know! You are such a great friend, that I know you would never talk someone's ear off if they were busy! I miss talking to you...maybe I should call sometime!

Mindi, the world needs more people like you - people who thrive on bringing happiness to others. You have an innate ability to brighten anyone's day and that is an amazing gift! I wouldn't be surprised if what that child understood was simply a misunderstanding. If people like you stop talking and smiling, the world would be a dreary place. And you can call me anytime! By the way, I noticed you called yesterday. I was not at home. I promise I wasn't avoiding you! :)

All of the previous comments are right. But, I also want to add one more possibility. . . . I was a teacher before having kids, and while they were little. I remember listening to some of the things they said, and couldn't believe their parents taught them that. Whene we were living in Cleveland my little girl was playing school, and told everyone to come give her a hug and a kiss goodbye. I asked her if that's what her teacher says, and she said yes. I told her that kisses are special and should only be for family. she responded with "Why, because she's black!!!!!!" We have NEVER said anything like that - - she came up with it all on her own!

What that experience has taught me is that even though kids say things that may sound like they are coming from the home - - they aren't always correct. Maybe that child misunderstood something their mother said, or didn't hear her correctly. I wouln't read too much into anything a young chid says! ;)

Ouch! I am sure that hurt. I know you are a great friend to so many. Just remember that. No wonder you have so many! (You're so darn easy to talk to.)

Have a happy holiday!

That is HILARIOUS! Kids! Don't feel bad, though. My mom was always the one that talked the phone off people's hooks. And I love her for it!

Don't you dare!!!! You are one of the funnest people I know, partly because you talk a lot! Just because someone doesn't like that doesn't mean there is anything wrong with YOU! You can't please everyone, so just be yourself. Because yourself is really great!

I am so sorry that someone would say that to you! Sometimes kids just open their mouths when they shouldn't. I often wonder where kids get the ideas....maybe because parents or adults open their mouths not realizing that "little ears" are around. I love talking with you! If it weren't for you around there would be a lot of awkward silence around. That is one reason I love being around you, because you talk! (not in a bad way!) You are always welcoming to others and always very happy. Be who you are and forget what others think. You wouldn't be you without it! Keep talking! Sometimes I feel that I talk to much....wonder what others think of me?!!

I love that you "talk too much." Nothing has changed and I am happy about that!
